Here it goes!

Hello there! I'm Lindsay. Happy New Year! 

It is blog one, I don't know where to start so I'm just going to start rambling! There may be structure to these eventually! ;) 

Please excuse the rookie, mess that this blog will inevitably be for an indefinite time period while I get a feel for this and carve my niche! And forewarning, please forgive my spelling, run-ons and other grammatical errors. 

For years friends, family, and acquaintances have encouraged me to start a blog. At times I have thought, "Really? Do I really have information to share that people would actually want to receive? Have I had that many FB (facebook) Soap Box moments?!". Well, the short answer to those questions was Yes and Yes. 

I have nay-sayed it for at least 3-4 years. I have a demanding full time career in the transportation industry, I was doing correspondence courses through the School of Natural Healing, plus trying to get  my small herbal product line off the ground- When would I have the time to post blogs?  Well, that is just it- all of those things go hand in hand. The time has come that I've finally accepted- you just have to stop spending so much time on the couch just get up and DO IT. You cannot let fears of failure or a preoccupation keep you from what is calling you! Not that specifically "Blogging" is calling me, but this is definitely a platform that I can already see being beneficial for my personal and professional growth. 

Who is Lindsay? What is Linds Blends?
Well, honestly, I am still searching for the answers to those questions myself, Lets see---

Um, well, I'm a Capricorn, I am 4'9", I love dogs, herbalist with a bad case of wanderlust, aspiring blogger, (haha..) more on me later, I'm sure.  

Linds Blends is the fully customizable herbal product line that I developed a few years ago with family and friends in mind. I offer a selection of herbal teas, salves, tinctures, infused oils, etc. 

This Blog will serve as a personal sounding board for me.  I want to explore: myself, discuss: travel and adventures near and far, gardening triumphs, defeats, and aspirations, theology; exchange opinions, information, and resources on alternative health care such as: herbalism, nutrition, music therapy, earth medicine of all kinds, energy healing, stones and crystals, etc. As of now and my vision this of this- nothing is off topic. 

At first I was a little wary using "Linds Blends" as the title of my Blog. What if later down the road Linds Blends really takes off and I need this to be fully focused on my business and all that encompasses it?? Well, I will cross that bridge when I come to it! Like I mentioned earlier, I do not see any of that happening if I don't take action now! I aim for Linds Blends to not only be a product line, but my natural healing persona, if you will. (Also, I've struggled whether to use the apostrophe in Linds' or not to. The name works either way, but what do you think? I'm leaning towards just Linds with no apostrophe)

It being 2016 now- I'm putting all of these plans into action-
I also just (yesterday 1/1/16) purchased my domain name and have begun building my first website!!! Just like this blog, I'm a super-beginner and doing all of this on my own (sitting here in my kitchen with a whole french press of coffee), so it is pretty basic. I will be launching that soon, hopefully. (I'm pretty OCD, so it will never be perfect, but I'd like to be as satisfied as possible before launching). 

Wow, just read through that after typing this up.. gulp. I'm taking a huge bite this year, but I am more ready now than ever. Honestly, I hope this blog helps hold myself accountable and allows me to set and reach obtainable goals. 

Speaking of goals- I am also participating in Wort and Cunning's 30 Day Plant Ally Challenge this month. So, I intend for this blog to fill up with entry's discussing that, starting today!
