One Week Out

Well, I officially will be landing in Ohio one week from today! ONE WEEK! I have kicked my butt in to high gear working to get everything in order here at home while I will be gone. It dried out long enough for me to get caught up on yard work! Weeded the front beds today.

I'm a huge proponent of growing edible and medicinal landscaping. In this front flower bed I have the following: Lillies, Tabasco peppers, Habaneros, Gazanias, St Johns Wort, Lemon Balm, Lemon Mint,  Mexican Sage, Coreopsis, Calendula, I'm sure I'm missing a few.. some of that stuff better take off as ground cover this year!  

Yesterday was Earth Day and there is also a Tiny House Exposition happening at Earth Day TX this weekend in Downtown Dallas, so my Mom, her friend, and I checked that out. It was awesome! Very inspiring. Those folks have the right idea- minimalism. It would be so hard for me to downsize like the Tiny Home owners talked about doing. I am not a 'material girl' by any means, but what I am is sentimental. Very Sentimental. "No, you cannot throw away that; yes we need it; of course it is valuable, to me." Yeah, that kind of stuff is ALL over my home. TREASURES if you ask me. ;) Capricorn habits? I don't know. I do know that changes are happening in my life, just not so drastic. Yet.

It was so sunny, so I couldn't get the best pictures. But here is is my FAVORITE of all the tiny houses we toured: 

The first thing I noticed is the beautiful Fibonacci themed stained glass window up top (in the loft), and the matching lamps. Here is a better photo that I got from her website.

Earth Day TX is taking place this weekend through 4/24 at Fair Park, and it is FREE! Go check it out if you're in the area!

Tiny House Village

As next week rapidly approaches, I plan to spend lots of time with the Behrs (nick name for my dog family, get used to hearing that), continue spending lots of time outdoors, and breaking in my new hiking boots ;)  begin packing and purchasing last minute items... and then... Next weekend will be here before I know it! 

I have not figured out how someone who does not have Google + can subscribe on their own, so please send an email to LindsBlends@gmail.com if you would like me to notify you via email when a new blog post is up.  **Correction, there should now be a "follow by email" section at the top of this post** I am not sure yet what our days will be like during this Internship, and how often I will be able to update/use WIFI, but I plan to journal daily and update this blog at least weekly! I appreciate all the feedback and support I have already received, and BIG shout out to my Mom who is nothing but encouraging and happy to hold down Behradise while I am out!!!
