First Month in Colorado

This marks one month as a Colorado resident! I can't believe it has already passed so quickly, and it's been so long since I wrote a blog post!

I got here on a Wednesday and started working the very next Monday. So I've been spending my weekends unwinding from the work week and getting to know my new area. I absolutely love my new position and the company I'm working for now is simply amazing. I've heard the sentiment before, "every experience up to this point has prepared me for this moment" and it couldn't be more true. I'm able to apply many of the skills that I have acquired, and it feels great to be so comfortable in a position. Although I'm working for a roofing company (wasn't my first choice of industry to work in), The company culture is better than I could've ever expected. We are a company of young individuals, everyone is very active and health-conscious. The company truly seems to care about the wellbeing of their employees. And they're rather young (11 years) but really have what it takes to continue to progress and grow. My direct supervisor, one of the principles, is totally on board all things plants- indoor plants all throughout the building, and he even brought up edible landscaping!!!! Since this is a new building for the company, and I'm in charge of it, these are some ideas that will coming to fruition in the next year or so. I couldn't be happier to be involved with this organization!

We've taken a few excursions since I've been here. I want to make it a more regular thing- there is so much to see!!!! I'm so ready for the fall colors that will be starting to change any time now!

We had a picnic at Lory park and reservoir one Sunday.  Later that afternoon we went into Ft. Collins. Browsed at some local shops- such a cute town, by the way!!! And we went to see Colorado State University's campus- where my sis plans on attending grad school- they've got a huge test garden that the botany department runs. So many gorgeous flowers and herbs, mostly landscaping and decorative, but they also had several medicinals! Beautiful school grounds. Almost makes me ponder on going back! Hope to go visit Ft. Collins again soon!

Another Sunday we went out to Morrison for a morning- had breakfast at a local cafĂ©, then went to check out Red Rocks Amphitheater. Red Rocks is a legendary concert venue here in Colorado. It's also open to the public during the warm season for tourists and people even have work out training sessions there. So majestic. Didn't get many pics that day- was mostly trying to soak as much in as I could!

We moved into our 3 bedroom apartment this past weekend, and my things will be arriving in a few days from Texas. After that, I will be able to fully settle in and feel at home. Life in Colorado is coming together quite nicely.

Here are a few pics from the last few weeks.

More to come! Thanks for reading. :)
